Ride
My Day Rides have been really successful last year.
I think we all had a good time and I enjoyed meeting such a diverse
and interesting bunch. Your feedback has all been positive and
I want to thank all the 07 Day Riders for their good company and
kind comments.
One of the good things about the Day Ride is that
you can pretty much set the agenda. If you want to try out some
training techniques and have a good hard session then we can do
that no problem. If you want to talk about your training and general
approach to cycling then we can ride along and chat. If you just
want to cruise and shoot the breeze about Paris-Roubaix, the Tour
de France or Lance Armstrong, hell yeah, I can do that all day
long!
The Day Ride is a totally relaxed scenario –
it’s your chance to get a good ride in and pick my brains
about anything you like. From your comments I know that many Day
Riders have really benefitted from my advice and encouragement.
Day
Rides 08 will start very soon and the format will be a bit different.
Due to my work, which involves a lot of driving with the Astana
team, and family commitments, taking the kids to school etc, I
am having to base all the rides from near to my home in Sussex.
I know all the roads in the area and there is a good pub, The
Crown, at the meeting point in Groombridge.
Here's
what you get on Day Ride 08:
- We meet
at Groombridge at 9.30am, check bikes and ride
- Approx
three-hour/90km ride in Sussex
- Towel
down and change into casual clothes (please bring washkit, spares,
clothes with you)
- After
the ride we have lunch at The Crown
- I follow-up
training/bike tips by email after the ride
Day
Ride 08 prices
- One rider:
£200
- Two
riders: £250
- Three
riders: £300
Groombridge is about five miles south-west of
Royal Tunbridge Wells. Follow
the A264 through Royal Tunbridge Wells and continue through Langton
Green
to Groombridge along B2110. Go down hill to village and take first
right before
the bottom and before the church on the left. Park on the green
in front of The
Crown pub.
